Chrisann Ellis

Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
This was dedicated to my late husband. When he passed away in 1999, I didn't know what my life would be like. So this is titled "What Lies Ahead"~taking one day at a time, and knowing he has my back. This was painted on Heavy 300 lb cold press w/c paper, masked her the designs on her bra, used a light wash to build the depth in her hat, and then lighted starting added in the blue. Her hair just played with colors, lifted and a very small amount of salt.
This is a Series of Work... Enjoy the Gallery of What Lies Ahead

I lost my husband last February, my soul mate for 43 years. There is nothing that can ease the pain, just remembering the time we had to together. Still trying to work on what lies ahead while still holding onto what remains behind. That may be the air of mystery that shows in this beautiful work Chrisann

Chrisann, I love to see how the tragedy of loss has given you new perspectives and strength. My husband died 3 years ago and I am still grappling with thinking of a future without him . . it is overwhelming at times . .. good things do lie ahead if we just keep putting one foot in front of the other . . . and maybe I will try purple hair! Beautiful work . . .f/l
